State v. GN

Mr. GN was facing ten years minimum of prison for being a prohibited possessor. Through some very very careful questioning, I was able to limit the testimony making this case dismissible through a “Rule 20” that demonstrated the State was unable to meet its burden of proof. A shout out to Samantha, my law clerk at the time, (and now an amazing lawyer) who helped me write some killer pretrial motions and more importantly, convinced a dubious me that we could win an impossible case on the facts by using a completely technical defense. When you hear on TV that some one got off on a technicality, that is what they mean!
